Sag Harbor, New York
Completed 2024
On a small site, flanked by close neighbors and a road, sits an L-shaped house. Not quite an ocean beach house, nor a woodlands retreat, the house finds serenity in the interior. Originally a single-story, the new house – keeping only the existing concrete foundation – adds two new second-story volumes, looking out at the adjacent bay. Bedrooms are compressed to their essential footprint, giving maximum space to the living programs that occupy the central core of the plan. Two north-south and east-west axes terminate in full-height windows, expanding the experience of the house’s interior.
